A COVID-19 vaccine work group working to identify priority groups for future vaccination has proposed that vaccine priority be given to health care personnel, essential workers, adults aged 65 years and older, long-term facility residents and persons with high-risk medical conditions, with initial doses going to critical health care and other workers.
The group is following an updated tiered approach that was developed for the H1N1 flu pandemic in 2018, with occupational and high-risk populations given the highest priority.
