Americans won’t be going mask-free anytime soon, according to Eric Toner, a senior scholar at the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security. Virus simulations at the institution show that the number of COVID-19 cases is going to get bigger, and that masks are “a vital defense to stop the spread of the virus,” he told Fox News.
That means until there is a vaccine, mask-wearing and social distancing will be something Americans “will be living with — hopefully living with happily — for several years,” he said.
