If you’re in New Jersey, you’re now required to wear a face mask covering your mouth and nose in public outdoor spaces. Gov. Phil Murphy made the executive order Wednesday, July 8, 2020.
He said he issued the order because of a “backslide in compliance” of wearing masks and honoring social distancing rules as the weather warmed up. The new rule applies to anyone 2 years and older. Exceptions include those who for health reasons can’t wear a mask, and for those in outdoor dining establishments.
