A former chief of neuroradiology at Stanford University Medical Center, Scott Atlas, says the infection-fatality rate of coronavirus in those under age 70 is less than or equal to the seasonal flu, and that the data show that 80% to 85% of hospitalized patients in Texas have nothing to do with the virus.
What happened, Atlas says, is that these patients were admitted for other conditions and then, when they happened to test positive for COVID-19, they somehow get categorized as COVID-19, rather than for the reason they’re there.
In response, Dr. Anthony Fauci admitted that the average age of infected persons has dropped by about 15 years and that many are asymptomatic. A day earlier Fauci said on a livestreamed press conference that it’s a “false narrative to tale comfort in a lower rate of death."
