The World Health Organization says there’s no proof that taking ibuprofen causes more severe coronavirus symptoms, but three recent studies suggest that nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medicines, like ibuprofen, may worsen the body’s response to the coronavirus.
Another study found that 15% of adults take more than the recommended daily maximum amount of ibuprofen, which in itself could worsen symptoms. Leading health experts have started recommending other options to COVID-19 patients — such as Tylenol (acetaminophen).
