Laboratories processing coronavirus testing are so backlogged that it’s taking several days to as long as a week to get results.

The delay is “too long,” Dr. Francis Collins, director of the National Institutes of Health told NBC. Besides making daily or even weekly COVID-19 case reports uncertain, not getting test results back quicker could result in those who are positive in failing to quarantine.
