COVID-19 has flattened out in Sweden, and deaths have been
two or less a day for over a week — the pandemic is basically over in that
country. This, despite the fact that Sweden refused to shut down at the height
of the pandemic when other countries were in lockdown.
Today, the United States continues to wallow in draconian
measures such as quarantining, mandatory mask-wearing and shutdowns in some
states or “hot spot” areas. So, why is Sweden over the virus while the U.S.
continues to fight it? The answer, says UNZ, is that Sweden never did fight it.
Instead, this country chose to “protect the old and
vulnerable while allowing the young, low-risk people to circulate, contract the
virus, and develop the antibodies they’d need to fight similar pathogens in the
future. It’s clear now that that was the best approach.”
