Ministers in the UK House of Lords are debating whether the
next step for fighting COVID-19 should be to mandate gloves for all. “The
exchanges came on the day people in England were required to start wearing face
coverings in shops, shopping centres, banks, takeaways, post offices, sandwich
shops and supermarkets or risk a £100 fine,” MSN reported.
Gloves aren’t in the official government guidances yet, but
it’s possible they should be, the Lords said. Meanwhile, the majority of people
in the Nordic countries of Sweden, Finland and Norway are choosing not to wear
masks, and The Netherlands government officials declined to mandate masks,
saying “there is no proven effectiveness” for them.
