Coronavirus Lockdown Is Hitting Non-Virus Patients in Desperate Need of Care

People with cancer and chronic conditions like heart and lung disease are suffering devastating setbacks in their care since the coronavirus lockdown, even as COVID-19 deaths dip to the lowest the lowest levels since before the lockdown.

In England and Wales, for example, coronavirus deaths are at 2.4%. Yet, patients with cancer, heart disease, strokes, dementia and intestinal illnesses are still sitting on-hold, waiting for hospitals to open to them. In a survey, 94% of doctors said they were worried about the consequences these patients face.
