An analysis by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the
Children’s Hospital Association found that COVID-19 infection in children
across the U.S. has increased by 90% in the past four weeks.
Dr. Sean O’Leary, vice-chair of the AAP, said the increase
is partly due to increased testing, along with “increased movement among
children and a rise in infection among the general population.”
The report did not say how many of the children are actually
sick with COVID-19, or if they are simply asymptomatic and tested positive.
Severe symptoms are rare in children, the report says.
