A school board meeting in Montana left teachers in shock
when board members voted to open schools with both virtual and in-person
classes. A reported 50 to 60 people spoke before the vote, with only one
supporting in-person learning.
One of the school district’s teachers who agreed to speak
with CNN said he was “blown away” at the board’s vote. In other parts of the
country, an Oklahoma teacher told CNN the fear of being exposed to the virus
and coming down with it not only keeps her awake at night, but crying.
A Georgia teacher said she resigned from her job so she
wouldn’t bring a possible infection home to her immunocompromised grandmother.
