As states clamp down on mask-wearing — even outside in some
places — news reports show that COVID-19 infections actually went up over 160%
a month after California mandated masks.
California Gov. Gavin Newsome issued his order June 18,
2020, to apply in all indoor spaces or enclosed areas in a person’s own
household where people who are not household members might gather.
His order also applied to any outdoor setting where 6-foot
social distancing was not possible. “The website of Johns Hopkins University,
which offers pandemic tracking tools for every U.S. state, says
average daily cases in California have increased from 3,385 on the day of
Newsom's order to 8,889 as of July 16, an increase of 162%,” Just the News
reported.
