States that imposed stay-at-home orders before May 1 significantly
slowed the spread of the disease for the nation as a whole, according to a new
study by Brown University.
The study period ran through the end of April, and because the
number of cases since then has increased after stay-at-home orders were lifted,
one researcher said it will be just as important to continue studies to show how
fast the disease spread after the stay-at-home measures were no longer in
place.
