Like it or not, COVID-19 is changing the face of many
businesses and industries, and the fitness industry is at the forefront of
those most affected. With most gyms and fitness centers being closed, the
“survivors” are finding ways to take fitness to the population, for example,
with live streaming workout videos that people can workout to in their homes.
From a user standpoint, many are reluctant to renew their
gym memberships, but those who do will most likely be fiercely insistent on
increased hygiene practices, both for themselves and for the gyms they visit.
From the business standpoint, Forbes suggests that the
industry will need to learn how to become an anytime and anywhere fitness model
that can enable adults and children to exercise and keep active wherever they
go.
