Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of
Allergy and Infectious Diseases and face of the White House coronavirus task
force, said it should be safe for people to vote in person as long as
they take sufficient precautions, such as social distancing.
Fauci pointed out that people who are at higher risk, such
as the elderly or those with chronic health conditions, or those who don’t want
to take the chance will still have a vote-by-mail option.
