A Supercomputer Analyzed COVID-19 and an Interesting New Theory Emerged

coronavirus

The second-fastest computer in the world spent a week analyzing 2.5 billion genetic combinations for COVID-19 and not only found a unique theory about how the virus impacts the body, but also suggested more than 10 potential treatments — many of which are drugs already approved by the FDA.

In short, the virus enters through your nose, then travels to your intestines, kidneys and heart and finishes off its attack by inciting something called a bradykinin storm which is ultimately responsible for the virus’ deadly effect.

For example, it also stimulates the production of hyaluronic acid, or HLA, essentially turning the fluid in your lungs into a sort-of hydrogel, which hinders breathing. Because it also acts like a natural ACE inhibitor, it produces symptoms similar to ACE inhibitor side effects, which include loss of taste and smell.

Some of the treatments the supercomputer team pinpointed include drugs that reduce the bradykinin storm, such as ecallantide, danazol and stanozolol. Vitamin D also was highlighted as a possible treatment.
