A new 30-second commercial warning how coronavirus can spread has viewers and major media collectively praising and criticizing the Scottish government for using scaremongering to produce the video.
The quick clip uses green slime to show how germs can spread and ends with the message, “Don’t spread coronavirus to those you love.” While it did get a share of positive responses, some people weren’t too happy with it, calling it “scaremongering” and “demonizing normal human reactions with family.” Others called for a ban on the video.
Within the media, The U.S. Sun called it “horrifying;” Metro U.K. called it “sinister.” Most media did say it was thought-provoking, albeit “chilling.”
