Baby Bottles Release Millions of Microplastic Parts

Researchers are calling for new guidelines on prepping infant formula in plastic baby bottles, after finding that polypropylene bottles release millions of microplastics into the formula at the rate of 16.2 million microplastic particles per liter.

Hot water increased the release to 55 millionparticles. Bottle sterilization and prepping alone exposes babies to 1 million microplastic particles daily.
