A satellite with a radar system so penetrating that it can see through buildings joined other satellites circling the Earth a few months ago. What’s different about this particular satellite, made by Capella Space, is that it captures clear pictures in any kind of lighting or weather.
Coupled with the fact that Capella also shares its images with both government and private entities, privacy in the sense that mankind once knew it is all but gone. Basically, what this satellite’s cameras can catch is so clear that online news magazine Futurism compared it to Superman’s X-ray vision.
Currently the satellite can only look at rooms through the buildings it views — but that’s only because U.S. law prevents it from viewing more. What’s concerning, Futurism says, is that it does have the capabilities to image “any part of the world that a paying customer asks for — even technically the inside of a home.”
