As COVID-19 death counts continue to rise across the U.S., a Colorado county has added two more to the list — people who died of gunshot wounds. The reasoning for this, according to news reports, was that the victims had test positive for coronavirus within 30 days of their deaths.
The problem with this is that the county’s hands are tied by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which stipulates that COVID-19 death counts include anyone who died “with” COVID, even if COVID isn’t the actual cause of death.
The absurdity of this was brought up by a ZeroHedge writer who noted that most COVID deaths are among the elderly who have multiple comorbidities, and that, tragic as it is, they more than likely were going to die of SOME thing in 2020, anyway.
