U.S. Surgeon General Jerome Adams is advising U.S. employers not to mandate the COVID vaccine, saying a mandate could face pushback.
Although the Kaiser Family Institute shows 71% of Americans are willing to take the vaccine, there is a large movement among Americans who are questioning the vaccine’s potential side effects.
Adams explained that the vaccine is available for frontline workers through an emergency use authorization to help stem the pandemic; however, it is still not fully approved. Full licensure is expected in the first half of 2021, he said.
“Understand that health is good for the economy, masks mean business and vaccinations mean a quicker return to normalcy,” Adams said.
