A wave of COVID-19 cases in an Auburn, New York, nursing home has killed 24 residents, and infected 137 residents and 47 employees. One of the employees is currently on life support.
December 22, the home began vaccinating residents for COVID; the first death was reported December 29. “So far 193 residents, or 80%, and 113 employees, or less than half the staff, have been vaccinated,” Syracuse.com reported. “The nursing home plans to do more vaccinations Jan. 12.” Earlier, the Auburn Pub had reported that 259 residents and 130 employees had been vaccinated.
At the time of the vaccination program, the nursing home had 26 known positive cases of COVID.
