In an interview with CNBC, Dr. Scott Gottlieb, former FDA chief, said he believes only a third of Americans — 120 million — will voluntarily take the COVID-19 vaccine.
Roughly the same number got flu shots last fall — indicating to him that those numbers will hold true now for the COVID vaccine. His predictions don’t coincide with a Pew Research Center poll, however, which indicated that 60% would “definitely or probably” get the vaccine.
Meanwhile, incoming President Joe Biden has said he will roll out 100 million vaccines in his first 100 days in office, with the help of military medical personnel and mobile vans to administer them.
