FDA and CDC officials are looking into reports of blood clotting disorders occurring in patients who have received a COVID vaccine. In one case the disorder was reported in connection with a Florida doctor’s death in January after he received Pfizer’s vaccine. In another, a woman was hospitalized with the disorder after receiving the Moderna vaccine. In both instances the victims suffered thrombocytopenia, or lack of platelets.
