Citing repeated violations of the social media’s terms of service for “false” coronavirus claims, Instagram banned Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on Wednesday, February 10, 2021.

While Kennedy’s Facebook page remained active as of February 11, Facebook had announced earlier that it would be removing posts and groups that spread what it deems “inaccurate” vaccine information, so it’s possible that a Facebook ban could follow. Facebook owns Instagram.

Facebook’s head of health, Kang-Xing Jin, posted earlier in the week that the social media giant had consulted with “leading health organizations, including the WHO,” to remove “debunked” claims about COVID-19 and vaccines in general.
