Microsoft has made its latest grab to eventually monitor and track everyone in the world with a unique QR code for scanning children in the Los Angeles Unified School District.
The children will need to be scanned daily for admittance to school: no pass, and they don’t get in. But wait — not only that, they need to EARN their safe-for-school pass by answering an online questionnaire, having no symptoms, having a temperature under 100 degrees and testing negative for COVID.
In addition to serving as a daily school admission certificate, the pass will also “coordinate” health checks and vaccinations in an online system, as well as “schedule appointments, track vaccines in stock, perform check-in and data capture at time of appointment, sort high-risk individuals, offer waitlists to low-risk individuals and dashboards to view data,” NBC Los Angeles, said.
But that’s not all — it also will send “anonymous data” to the school district and its health care collaborators, including Stanford University, UCLA, The Johns Hopkins University, Anthem Blue Cross, Healthnet and Cedars Sinai — to provide insights for strategies to create the safest possible school environment,” NBC Los Angeles added.
