Pharmaceutical and medical device giant Johnson & Johnson is planning to begin testing babies, pregnant women and the immunocompromised with an experimental COVID-19 vaccine.
The company made the announcement just one day after the U.S. FDA granted J&J’s subsidiary, Janssen Biotech, an emergency use authorization for its experimental COVID vaccine for persons age 18 and older.
J&J will test children ages 12 to 18 first, and then quickly move on to the rest of the proposed group.
