Pfizer has announced a new clinical trial for its COVID-19 vaccine, this time studying safety and immunogenicity of it in pregnant women.
Even though the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has stated that pregnant women in America can choose to get a COVID vaccine if they want, pregnant women weren’t part of the first clinical trials of either vaccine approved in the U.S.
“Pfizer’s trial will help offer more conclusive data about the vaccine’s safety and effectiveness in pregnant women,” ABC News said. It also will look at immune responses in both the mother and baby.
