TV political commentator Krystal Ball doesn’t mince any words when she says it: Billionaire Bill Gates is lying when he says it won’t help developing countries to lift patent protections on the COVID vaccines.
As the “self-appointed czar” of vaccines, Gates says there aren’t enough vaccine factories available in other countries to assure safety in the manufacturing process. But that’s not true, Ball points out. The truth is there are factories standing ready to go, if only they had the technical blueprints to do it.
In other words, if the Big Pharma companies would relinquish their patents on their vaccines, these foreign factories could quickly — and safely — get up and running.
It’s all about greed, Ball says — and keeping Pharma profits as high as possible. The bottom line is that, despite his insistence that he wants to cure disease and get vaccines as quickly as possible to developing countries, Gates is purposely holding up the distribution process.
