In a new twist to the vaccinated versus unvaccinated divisiveness, a mother of a Washington state high school volleyball player reported that her unvaccinated teen was being required to wear a contact-tracing ankle monitor while she participated in the sport.
School officials told her the TraceTag device “would inform the players when they were too close together and was only used for indoor sports.” The mother also told The Post Millennial that the school said they would use the device “for contract tracing so that in the event of a positive test, non-vaccinated students would have to quarantine for up to 14 days. Vaccinated students would not have to quarantine.”
While the student was allowed to remove the monitor after the parent intervened, the mother was not allowed to take photos of the device on the student’s leg. According to news reports, the school board plans to consider similar devices with radio toggles on the helmets of the football team, too. A decision on that move is expected soon.
