A German amusement park that thought they had the answer to sorting out who’s vaccinated against COVID-19 and who isn’t had a “coming-to” of sorts when public outcry shot down the plan almost as soon as it was implemented.
Europa-Park began issuing different colored wristbands to vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals Monday, August 16, 2021. White was for fully vaccinated; colored bands were for those who had received a rapid test within 24 hours.
The goal was to change wristband colors every day to facilitate force-testing colored wristband visitors who stayed in the park for more than a day. But, public outrage and backlash on social media and elsewhere ended the program in three days, with the park announcing August 19, 2021, that “The process of multicolored bracelets has already been abolished. A different process has been implemented.”
News reports didn’t say what the new process is.
