Attorney Aaron Siri has won a major victory in federal court, with the judge ordering the FDA to turn over its data on Pfizer’s mRNA COVID-19 shot at the rate of 55,000 pages per month.
Originally, FDA officials had said they couldn’t produce the requested materials any faster than 500 pages a month, which would have taken at least 75 years to do. While the judge noted that it would be burdensome, he also said it was of “paramount importance” to turn over the data as quickly as possible.
With the ruling, the FDA should have Pfizer’s data — whatever isn’t redacted — to the public by summer, 2022.
