New Study Shows That COVID Shot Adverse Effects Are a Good Thing

In a move aimed at quelling people’s fears of the COVID-19 shots, researchers say they’ve found that those who had “mild to moderate” side effects had “significant,” higher, antibody concentrations after two or three shots.

The large study looked at health care workers who reported reactions such as fatigue/exhaustion/malaise, headache and musculoskeletal pain, along with local adverse effects and systemic reactions.

Since fear of adverse effects and a belief that the vaccine is ineffective are major reasons, people give for refusing the shots, the finding that higher antibody levels after the second and third vaccinations in subjects with acute vaccine reaction, compared with the group without acute vaccine reaction, was good news.

They also learned the levels were highest in those under age 30. The data collection was done between May 2021 and March 2022.
