U.S. Congressman Adam Schiff used his position to petition Twitter to ban a journalist whose reportage Schiff doesn’t like, according to the latest Twitter file “dumps “that Elon Musk has been releasing.
Paul Sperry works for Real Clear Politics. Schiff’s excuse for asking for the ban was that Sperry had “repeatedly promoted false QAnon conspiracies and harassed [name redacted.]" He made the request in November 2020.
Specifically, the request read, among other demands, "Remove any and all content about Mr. Misko," Rep. Sean Misko of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, "and other Committee staff from its service — to include quotes, retweets, and reactions to that content."
At the time, Twitter refused to do it, saying, “We don’t do this.” When Musk released the tweets, he prodded Schiff with the comment, “Hey [Rep Adam Schiff], what's this?"
