‘Trusted’ Industry Censorship Group Gets Slapped With Lawsuit

Trusted News Initiative is a self-appointed Pharma and Big Tech industry partner that’s spent the past couple years playing judge and jury of news agencies it decides aren’t telling the news the way they want it told, and has been doing everything it can to censor what it doesn’t want the public to hear.

Now, three years into the pandemic’s third year, the Initiative is being forced to account for its tactics, with a lawsuit filed by Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and multiple other entities, including Dr. Mercola. The Washington Post, The Associated Press, BBC, Twitter, Microsoft, and Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism are some of the core Initiative partners named in the suit.

According to the lawsuit, “this is an antitrust action,” and specifically, “Federal antitrust law has its own name for this kind of ‘industry partnership’: it’s called a ‘group boycott’ and is a per se violation of the Sherman Act.”

As evidence of this allegation, the lawsuit references multiple public statements by TNI partners, including a March 2022 statement by Jamie Angus, then-senior news controller for BBC News, who explained TNI’s “strategy to beat disinformation.”
