Judge Dismisses University’s Lawsuit Against Cardiologist

Dr. Peter McCullough is a cardiologist who was vice chief of internal medicine at Baylor University Medical Center and a professor at Texas A&M University before the pandemic, when he parted ways with them after they accused him of spreading misinformation about the mRNA shots and promoting unapproved treatments for the virus.

The university sued him for $1 million after McCullough went on a media circuit giving interviews in which he shared his personal opinions on the pandemic, virus, and treatments. The university claimed McCullough was misrepresenting his affiliation with the institution; McCullough argued that it was not he, but third-party agencies making those claims.

February 1, 2023, the judge agreed with McCullough and dismissed the university’s case with prejudice, meaning the university cannot refile it.

“This is a strong victory for freedom of speech and fair balanced publication and media presentation of clinical data as it has emerged over the course of the pandemic crisis,” McCullough told The Daily Wire. “My analyses and conclusions have been accurate, consistent, and have always been my own, not those of any institution.”
