Study: Long-Term Pain Post-Heart Attack May Be an Earlier Death Signal

While pain after a heart attack isn’t unusual, a new study following 18,000 persons who reported pain for a year or more after their attacks showed that those reporting moderate to severe pain were more likely to die from any cause. Specifically, those with moderate pain were 35% more likely to die from any cause during the study period of 8.5 years, whereas those with extreme pain were more than twice as likely to die during the study period, according to CBS News.
