Pulling out all the stops in an effort to win Biden’s reelection, the president’s campaign will have hundreds of new staffers and volunteers performing just one designated job: fighting misinformation on social media.
The strategy is necessary, campaign representatives said, because they believe social media outlets won’t do the job the way they should.
“Biden’s reelection campaign is expecting to combat a barrage of false claims by Trump and other GOP candidates about Biden’s past record, the White House’s Covid-19 vaccine push; and alleged efforts to suppress voter turnout,” Politico reported.
Although they stopped short of defining how they will decide what is misinformation and what is true, Politico added that the countermeasures would address efforts by conservatives to spread a “deluge of misinformation from candidates and AI tools.”
