Add mouth sores to the growing list of symptoms of COVID-19 infection. The CDC doesn’t list skin rashes, including mouth lesions, on its symptoms list yet, but a new study suggests that perhaps they should be.
Published in the journal Dermatology, the study said the “presence of enanthem is a strong clue that suggests a viral etiology,” and that doctors should be checking the mouths of those suspected of having COVID-19. Mouth lesions were also present in some COVID-19 patients in Italy.
