A recent study shows that even after you’ve been vaccinated, you can still become infected with COVID-19, although the chance of that happening is small. People who do get a COVID-19 infection after being vaccinated may not recognize the symptoms, however, since those symptoms may differ from the typical symptoms of fever, fatigue, chills, dry cough or loss of taste and smell.
There are four symptoms of post-vaccination COVID-19 that people should be aware of including breathlessness, earache, swollen glands and sneezing, according to the study. Patients who reported breathlessness said it was difficult to catch their breath and fully get air into their lungs, while sneezing occurred most often in people under the age of 60.
Researchers also found that three groups of vaccinated people — women, older adults above the age of 60 and people with pre-existing cases of asthma and other lung infections — are more at risk for COVID-19.
